A short description about your blog

Our Domed Triskele Pendant is one of most popular Celtic pendants for obvious reasons.

It's just large enough (1 1/4" diameter) to make a statement, but not to overpower.

Also called the Triple Goddess or Triskelion, this Celtic symbol is one of the oldest and most popular, even showing up in movies and on TV such as the show Charmed.

What makes this piece so striking as Celtic jewelry is the contemporary lines, rounded domed edges, and the high silver polish.

This Triskele, Triple Goddess, or Triskelion symbol has been found in many ancient cultures around the world. The Celtic people in the Bronze Age called it the Spiral of Life. It symbolizes the three cycles of life in many forms: body-mind-spirit, maiden-mother-crone, and land-sea-sky. It has also been found in pre-Columbian and ancient Hopi cultures.

When we started creating Celtic jewelry, silver was under $6 per ounce. Today it peaked at almost $19 per ounce!

That's nice for silver speculators, but it's not that great for those of us in the silver jewelry business, and here's why.

Silver doesn't have the perceived value that Gold has. Some people wear our silver Celtic pendants, Celtic earrings and such because they like the color better than gold, or because they can afford many more styles, but it's not for the investment.

As silver prices go up, our costs to produce go up, yet we can't really justify raising our prices to match. Put that together with a bad economy and it's squeezing many who produce Celtic jewelry (and other styles) out of business.

We're hanging in there thanks to our loyal customers, and because we've managed to get up in the search rankings for Celtic jewelry, Celtic pendants, Celtic earrings, as well as other non jewelry related terms such as the meaning of triquetra.

Hopefully, the economy will rebound because I doubt if silver will ever get back under $10.

medieval renaissance tiara circletOur Renaissance circlet, medieval tiara is another one of our one exclusive designs. When we were thinking about what would help fill out our growing line of Celtic Tiaras and Circlets in our Celtic jewelry marketplace, we thought back on our year doing Renaissance Festivals, and realized that's what we needed.

This medieval Renaissance Tiara has a more delicate design than most of our our Celtic circlets, and so it is perfect for mixing with other costume pieces, such as a veil or other head wear.

It is very comfortable to wear and as it begins to oxidize, the silver detail comes up even more.

We also have included a small hole at the bottom of the front of the Renaissance Tiara so you can add the gem or bead of your choice.

  • Weight: 54.7 grams
  • 18" band with a 7" chain. Adjusts to fit just about anyone.
  • It is cast in alloy for strength, then heavy .925 silver plate it for long lasting silver shine
  • A small hole at the bottom allows the attachment of a gem or other ornament

Check out this unique and beautiful medieval Renaissance Tiara, as well as our Celtic pendants, Celtic earrings and more.

celtic jewelryIt's already the middle of June. That means some of our favorite Celtic Festivals and Scottish Highland Games are coming up.

First there's the Portland Games on Saturday July 17th. We'll be offering our Celtic Jewelry, Celtic tiaras, and more in the Gym right up from the main field.

Then two weeks later we'll up in Washington state for the Seattle Highland Scottish Games in Enumclaw, Washington. This is the big one in the Pacific Northwest, and it's a beautiful venue with views of Mt. Ranier. Look for us in the Craft building. Our Celtic jewelry booth should be very visible (our lights make it look like a UFO at times)

We'll have some of our new Celtic pendant and earring designs, as well as some of the traditional Celtic jewelry designs you've come to love.

See you there, we hope.

Coming up October 2nd and 3rd is the KVMR Celtic Music Festival. It rocks.

claddagh brooch claddagh kilt pinWe have a few new pieces in our product line. One is a very nicely detailed Claddagh brooch - kilt pin, with the same design in a smaller pendant design. The other is a Scottish thistle brooch - pin, also very detailed, and both are solid sterling silver.

The Celtic symbolism of the Claddagh stands for Friendship (hands), Loyalty (crown) and Love (heart). It's motto is, "Let Love and Friendship Rein forever". It is given and worn, both in friendship and romantic love. It's origin dates back over 400 years from the village of Claddagh, near Galway, Ireland, but has been adopted by Celts of all persuasions due to its dynamic symbolism.

scottish thistle brooch kilt pinThe Scottish thistle design symbolizes tenacity and strength. The thistle is the national flower of Scotland, and emblematic of their fierce independance. Historically, it is believed to have saved an entire army by warning them of an impending attack by warriors advancing barefoot under darkness of night. When one stepped on a thistle and cried out, it warned the Scots and they were victorious in defeating the enemy.

celtic pendant, celtic jewelryOur first show of the year (and one of our favorites) is approaching quickly.

It's the 134th anniversary for the Sacramento Scottish Highland Games, which will take place in Woodland, California on April 24th and 25th.

We always look forward to presenting our Celtic jewelry at this venue, because the people are always friendly, the weather is usually very good, and also because Woodland has one of the best Sushi restaurants we've ever been to. (http://www.osakasushi.com)

The Sacramento Games always has a great lineup of entertainment, and this year is no different with favorites The Wicked Tinkers and Golden Bough headlining.

We will be bringing our usual display of Celtic earrings, Celtic pendants, Celtic necklaces, Celtic & Elvish Tiaras and Circlets, as well as some of the new designs that we put up on the web site just before the holidays.

These Celtic pendants, necklaces and earrings feature silver with gold accents, and one convertible Celtic necklace has some small diamonds. It is a very unique design that looks like a pendant, then opens up to be a Celtic necklace.

If you haven't seen us in a while, we will also have two new Celtic tiara designs that have been very popular.

celtic pendantAnother year of selling our Celtic jewelry at shows and on our ever evolving web site has passed, and we'd like to thank everyone who crossed our path in person or online.

This year saw us do fewer Celtic jewelry shows due to the economy, and the higher costs of traveling in our 20' RV. We also changed our web site in 2009, from a hosted solution to our new Joomla based site. We now have the flexibility to server you better.

We have plans to continue to broaden our offerings in 2010. We will be adding more styles, and we're looking into some very nice, high quality Titanium Celtic rings, and other unusual Celtic jewelry.

You may have seen our newest offerings, the Gold & Silver designer jewelry from a talented producer out of Canada. These designs sold out as fast as we could get them in the run up to the holidays. We expect they will be popular Celtic jewelry styles for Valentine's Day, and for those special birthdays, and other occasions where you need really original Celtic pendants, Celtic earrings and Celtic Necklaces.

We will be sending out our deep discount coupons soon for Valentines Day specials on Celtic jewelry so keep an eye out.

celtic pendantThe latest designs to be available in our online Celtic jewelry store are the Window to the Soul pendants. (Celtic earrings to match)

As you can see from the photos, these are very classy Celtic Pendant designs, and also very unique. The design has Celtic knot work that is over a hollow center.

The inside is gilded in 24K gold, so that it shows through the spaces of the knot pattern. This is a subtle, yet striking effect when viewed from the right angle and in the right lighting.

That's why they are called the Window to the Soul, because you have to look inside to see the warm glow within.

Each pendant comes with an 18" sterling silver chain, and the bale for each Celtic pendant is large enough to accommodate a large diameter chain.

celtic pendantWe have two Celtic pendant styles to choose from. One is the oval shape shown above, and the other is the round Celtic pendant shape, shown to the right.

There are matching Celtic earrings for each version.

We expect these to be very popular as the holidays approach, and since we have limited inventories of these between now and Christmas, don't hesitate if these are the the styles you want to surprise your special someone with.

We continue to search the world for the most unique Celtic jewelry designs to add to our collection, and we have a few new additions that definitely fit the bill.

These are in limited supply between now and Christmas, so if one strikes your fancy, scoop it up right away to avoid disappointment.

First we have our Convertible Celtic Pendant / Necklace, which can go from pendant to necklace in seconds. In a brilliant design, it is held together as a pendant by two tiny magnets embedded in the silver where the ends meet.

Gently pull it apart and open it up and it becomes a stunning necklace.

The style pictured above has five diamonds, and the one at the left has three, but both are sure to please the appreciator and collector of fine Celtic jewelry.

We will present our Silver with 24K Gold gilded pendants and earrings in the next blog post.
